What does Lens Fracture (LF) measure?

LightControl parameter LF

  • What does it measure?
    • It measures whether one or more internal lenses have a fracture.
  • How does it measure it?
    • The camera takes multiple images and creates an image histogram.
  • How does it relate to the previous measurement?
    • It compares with and adds the images to a neural network.

Broader explanation:

This measurement is done to ensure that defective endoscopes with internal lens breakage do not enter the operating room, that endoscopes are repaired or replaced in a timely manner and that endoscopes cannot create dangerous situations in people.

The camera takes multiple images and makes a histogram of them. Then the system references the image set to the previous images of this endoscope and feeds it to the neural network of EndoscopeManager. Based on this, a pass/fail is triggered. The images are then added to the neural network.
