In this article will be explained how to get to and replace the mainboard PCB inside the camera compartment of the LightControl.
The mainboard is located inside the camera compartment of the LightControl, which is covered by a hood. To read how to remove the hood in order to get inside reference this article How to open the various LightControl compartments.
Removing the mainboard from the frame
Once the hood is removed the internal components will be exposed as is seen in the image below.
Proceed by removing the screws that hold in place the bar to which the cover of the LightControl is secured, encircled in red. This will make sure there is enough room to disconnecting the connectors behind the bar. If these screws cannot be undone read in the next chapter about an alternative method to get easier access to the lower part of the mainboard.
With this bar removed all the connectors are exposed and can easily be reached. Disconnect all the connectors until the PCB is only kept in place by the plastic screws.
Finally, the four plastic screw holding the mainboard to the bracket need to be undone. There are four plastic screws that attach the mainboard to the bracket as can be seen in the image below where they are encircled in green.
After removing the current mainboard follow these steps in reverse order to mount the new mainboard in place.
Alternative to removing the bar
If the aforementioned bar cannot be removed, remove the bracket holding the mainboard and the LED ring. This will provide space to remove the mainboard. In the image below are the two screws encircled in red which need to be unscrewed on both sides.
With the bracket detached from the frame of the LightControl the whole can be lifted, which will make it easier to get to the connectors at the bottom of the mainboard.
