How to replace the light sensor in a LightControl

Learn how to replace the light sensor in the sphere unit of a LightControl.

Step 1: Open the sphere compartment.

1. To open the sphere compartment please follow the following article. How to open the various LightControl compartments.

Step 2: Disassemble the sphere.

1. Unscrew the two bolts that attach the sphere to the plate using a size 3 allen key.
2. Carefully move the sphere unit out of the socket to make sure the small PCB doesn't get damaged.
3. Unscrew the two bolts that hold the sphere together using a size 3 allen key.
4. Disconnect the segment of the sphere indicated in the picture below.

Step 3: Replace the light sensor.

1. Remove the light sensor from the sphere.
2. Unplug the cable from the light sensor.
3. Plug in the new light sensor.
4. Place the light sensor back into the sphere. Make sure the light sensor is facing the correct way around.

Step 5: Reassemble and placing back the sphere.

1. Follow the steps in reverse to reassemble and place back the sphere.
